Brake servicing on heavy commercial vehicles and buses requires tools matched to the specific fastener profiles and torque levels involved — generic workshop tooling cannot reliably deliver the impact force needed on the largest seized caliper fasteners. The Govoni GO1353 is a Torx slogging brake caliper wrench from the M-series range, designed for the assembly and disassembly of brake caliper fixing screws on the front and rear axles of heavy vehicles and buses.
The slogging design allows the operator to release stubborn fasteners by striking the end of the wrench with a hammer, transmitting an impact pulse to the fastener head. Even seized fasteners — common on long-service vehicles where corrosion has developed in the caliper-to-knuckle interface — can be released this way without the shearing risk associated with applying continuous high torque.
A 3/4 inch square drive on the wrench allows it to be used with a torque wrench during the clamping phase of the service in accordance with vehicle manufacturer specifications. A torque conversion formula laser-etched on the wrench compensates for the lever extension of the slogging design, and must be applied to set the correct final torque.
The tool's design eliminates the need to remove the steering control tie rod lever during caliper servicing — a meaningful time saving across the working day.
