The Sealey AK3040 is a 40-piece metric tap and die set designed to cut clean, accurate threads and restore damaged ones across a range of common metric sizes from 3mm to 12mm. The set features high quality alloy steel taps and dies, with split dies machined with lead-ins to make starting a cut easier and more controlled. The die holder includes a self-centring mechanism to keep the die square to the workpiece, reducing the risk of cross-threading and producing straighter, more accurate results. A T-handled tap wrench is included for driving taps by hand with good control, alongside a metric screw pitch gauge to help identify thread specifications before you start. The full contents cover sizes 3x0.5, 3x0.6, 4x0.7, 4x0.75, 5x0.8, 5x0.9, 6x0.75, 6x1, 7x0.75, 7x1, 8x1, 8x1.25, 10x1.25, 10x1.5, 12x1.5 and 12x1.75mm, plus a 1/8" NPT tap, a T-bar tap wrench, die holder, screwdriver and thread gauge. The complete set is supplied in a fitted storage case to keep all components organised and protected.
