The Airforce II features a nylon body and metal inlet construction for modern, lightweight and shock-resistant durability. At its core is a proven Bourdon tube with beryllium copper construction, chosen for robustness and high shock resistance. The direct valve design increases inflation and deflation rates, reducing operating costs, while the unit's long product life and flexible usage characteristics are cited by PCL as contributing to a reduced cost of ownership. Accuracy is guaranteed: every unit is individually tested and supplied with a calibration certificate. The Airforce II meets BS EN 12645:2014 for accuracy, reliability and robustness, with PCL stating that official tests have shown the gauge to perform well above accepted requirements under that standard.
