Fleet workshops lose time whenever a vehicle has to be moved to the air line, and the PCL AM90SS20C/0005 removes that constraint entirely. The AM90 is a completely self-contained mobile tyre inflation cart for inflating tyres on cars, vans and commercial vehicles up to 145 psi, designed for fleet settings where moving the unit to the vehicle is the efficient way to work. Power for both the digital pre-set inflator and the on-board compressor comes from a high-power 12v or 24v battery, so there are no wires or air-source hoses required in use — developed and tested in conjunction with the Ocado van fleet network. The slimline forecourt-type tower design stands on a fully connected BIL heavy-duty sack barrow with solid castors, moving easily around sites and between vehicles, with built-in vibration isolators keeping the unit quiet. Touch screen operation sets the pressure with one-touch psi/bar toggle, and the built-in digital inflation device uses state-of-the-art electronics accurate to better than 1 psi: pre-programme the pressure up to 145 psi and the unit works automatically and safely with auto shut-off. The 12v 450c-duty sealed continuous-cycle compressor kit delivers 30–50 litres of air per minute to 145 psi, compressing a 22-litre tank from empty to 105 psi in under 4 minutes, with top-ups taking seconds. A super heavy-duty 12v 80Ah YUASA battery powers the entire system for an average 20 hours of continuous inflation per charge, recharging from flat in around 6 hours, with LED indicators showing battery state (red 11.3–11.9V charge required, yellow 12.0–12.5V normal, green 12.6–15V charging normal). Because there is no pressure vessel on board — the compressor uses a direct motor feed — the separate pressure-vessel testing and servicing required for mains compressors is eliminated. A 7.5 m coiled inflation hose and hanging hook make for simple use and storage, and the unit is manufactured, tested and calibrated in Sheffield, UK by PCL.
