Modern vehicles including electric, hybrid and stop/start models place demanding requirements on battery charging and jump-starting equipment. The Sealey ECS400 is a fully electronic, microprocessor-controlled battery charger and starter unit that meets those requirements head on. It supports EFB, AGM/GEL, Lead Acid, Lead Calcium and Silver Calcium battery types across a wide 4-550Ah battery range, and operates on both 12V and 24V electrical systems. Up to ten analysis and charge phases including trickle and maintenance modes are managed automatically using ECS (Electronic Control Systems) technology, which stabilises charging current to improve efficiency and reduce charge times. Peak charge output reaches 75A (50A EN-rated) and peak start output reaches 400A (300A EN-rated), with cable and clamp lengths of 2 metres. An LED read-out provides an instant visual check of battery condition, charge current, voltage and charging rate. Built-in surge and spike protection during charging and starting safeguards sensitive vehicle systems including ABS, airbag sensors, ignition and audio systems. Battery Support Unit (BSU) mode supplies 30A at 13.5V to keep the battery supported during prolonged diagnostic checks or software updates, preventing drain. Polarity protection is provided by twin 100A fuses. Supplied with a 2-year guarantee.
