Product Number: 82639
Working near live cables and wires demands tools that meet the most rigorous safety standards, the Draper Expert 82639 fully insulated round mouth shovel is purpose-built for exactly that environment. Its construction centres on an epoxy fibreglass core, providing robust structural integrity while maintaining full electrical insulation throughout the head and blade assembly. The shovel is attached to a fully enclosed insulated shaft fitted with a hand slip guard ensuring the operator remains protected at every point of contact. Each unit is individually tested to 10 000 volts guaranteeing safe working at 1 000V in compliance with BS 8020 standards. This is not a batch or sample-tested product; every shovel receives its own certified test before leaving the production line. Traceability is built directly into the tool: each shovel is supplied with a certificate of conformity that correlates with a unique traceability number embossed on the shaft. This makes site auditing and compliance documentation straightforward for contractors and project managers alike. Key dimensions are a head size of 240 mm x 305 mm and an overall length of 1 providing a practical working reach for excavation and cable-laying tasks. The shovel is supplied individually as a single unit. Manufactured and individually certified to BS 8020 the Draper Expert 82639 is a reliable documented choice for electrical contractors and utilities professionals working within live-network environments.
