Note that the 5.5mm size is an exception to this, using a hexagon profile rather than bi-hexagon. The jaw is offset at 15 degrees, a geometry that improves knuckle clearance and makes the tool practical in confined or awkward working positions where a straight-jaw spanner would be impractical.
