Removing and fitting external circlip retaining rings demands a tool with the strength to resist deflection and the precision to locate accurately in the ring eyes without slipping. The Draper Expert Straight Tip External Circlip Pliers, SKU 9039, are forged from high carbon steel that is hardened and tempered, providing a robust body capable of sustained workshop use. A blacked phosphate finish protects the forged body against corrosion and surface wear in demanding environments. The precision tips are manufactured separately from spring steel, a material selected for its superior resilience under repeated flexing. This construction gives the tips an extra long service life compared with those machined from the same stock as the body. At 320mm in overall length and designated size A4, these pliers are suited to larger external circlip applications where a shorter tool would offer insufficient leverage or reach. Non-slip dipped PVC handles deliver a comfortable, secure grip during extended use, reducing operator fatigue. The straight-tip configuration makes these pliers the correct choice for external circlip removal and installation in applications where direct axial access is available.
