The hold-and-measure button locks the blade at the required length, while a separate button on the base controls the speed of blade return, preventing the fast snap-back that can damage the tip or cause injury. The power-return nylon-coated blade carries clear black and red graduations covering metres in cm/mm alongside feet in inches, with 1/8" and 1/16" increments. A yellow wear-resistant coating protects the blade surface, and stud centre markings at every 16" assist in timber-framing and partition layout. The self-aligning end hook adjusts automatically to maintain accuracy whether hooking onto an external edge or pressing the hook flush for an internal measurement, making the tape equally reliable for both applications. The blade measures 3 m/10 ft in length and 16 mm in width. Supplied display-packed.
