The head is forged from hardened and tempered fine-grain high carbon steel, delivering the durability and resilience required for repeated impact work. A matt black finish with polished faces gives the head a clean, functional profile, while a protective coating guards against corrosion in workshop environments. The shaft is crafted from straight-grained natural hickory, sanded and lacquered to provide a secure, comfortable grip and to help absorb the shock of each blow. Hickory has long been the preferred timber for striking-tool handles owing to its combination of strength and natural flexibility. The 225g (8oz) head weight makes this hammer well suited to lighter precision tasks such as riveting, pin punching and general fabrication work. Supplied as a single hammer.
