Ground-working tasks demand a shovel that combines structural integrity with lasting resistance to the elements — the Draper Expert Contractors Taper Mouth No.2 Shovel (48426) is built to meet that requirement. The solid forged blade is correctly hardened for strength, ensuring it withstands the rigours of heavy contractor use without deforming under load. A powder coated finish provides extra durability and corrosion protection, keeping the blade serviceable in wet or abrasive conditions. The taper mouth No.2 blade head measures 215 mm at the base and 250 mm at the top, with a 300 mm depth, making it well proportioned for moving soil, aggregate and similar materials efficiently. The overall tool length is 1000 mm, suited to standard working postures without excessive reaching or strain. The shaft is constructed from ash wood sourced from a sustainably managed forest, offering a combination of natural flexibility and impact resistance that complements the forged blade. The metal YD handle is fitted with a wooden cross dowel for added comfort during prolonged use, reducing hand fatigue on demanding sites. Supplied as a complete, ready-to-use tool, the Draper Expert Contractors Taper Mouth No.2 Shovel with Ash Shaft is designed for professional contractors and groundworkers who require a dependable, well-finished implement that is built to last.
This hardwearing taper mouth No.2 shovel has a solid forged blade that is correctly hardened for strength. Ash wood shaft and metal YD handle with wooden cross dowel for added comfort. The powder coated finish provides extra durability and corrosion protection. Timber from a sustainable managed forest.
