Heavy digging and shifting tasks demand a tool that will withstand repeated, hard use without losing its edge or structure. The Draper Expert Contractors Square Mouth No.2 Shovel is built to meet that demand, combining a solid forged blade that has been correctly hardened for strength with a powder coated finish that provides extra durability and corrosion protection against the elements. The square mouth No.2 blade measures 250 mm wide by 300 mm tall, making it well suited to moving loose materials such as soil, gravel, sand, and aggregate on construction sites and groundworks projects. The overall tool length of 940 mm positions the user efficiently over the work, reducing unnecessary strain during extended use. The ash wood shaft is sourced from a sustainably managed forest, offering a naturally resilient, lightweight handle that absorbs vibration better than many synthetic alternatives. Comfort during prolonged use is addressed by the metal YD handle fitted with a wooden cross dowel, which provides a secure, two-handed grip and allows controlled leverage when loading or lifting material. The combination of forged blade, powder coated protection, and quality timber construction reflects the standard expected of the Draper Expert Contractors range. The shovel is supplied as a single unit and the timber used in its construction is certified as originating from a sustainably managed forest, in line with responsible sourcing standards.
This hardwearing square mouth No.2 shovel has a solid forged blade that is correctly hardened for strength. Ash wood shaft and metal YD handle with wooden cross dowel for added comfort. The powder coated finish provides extra durability and corrosion protection. Timber from a sustainable managed forest.
