The largest commercial vehicles — heavy haulage tractor units and the heavier end of the rigid truck market — use brake caliper fasteners at the upper end of the size range, requiring purpose-built tooling matched to those larger profiles. The Govoni GO1313 is a slogging brake caliper wrench in E24 Torx profile, designed for the assembly and disassembly of brake caliper fixing screws on the front and rear axles of these larger heavy vehicles.
The slogging design allows the operator to release stubborn fasteners by striking the end of the wrench with a hammer, transmitting an impact pulse that breaks the corrosion bond between the fastener and its surrounding material. On the largest commercial vehicles, where caliper fasteners see the highest torque levels and the most aggressive service conditions, this impact-loading technique is often the only practical method of releasing seized fasteners short of cutting them off.
A 3/4 inch square drive on the wrench allows controlled clamping using a torque wrench during the refit phase, in accordance with vehicle manufacturer specifications. A torque conversion formula is laser-etched on the wrench, accounting for the lever extension introduced by the slogging design — the formula must be applied to set the correct final torque at the fastener.
A practical advantage is that the tool's design eliminates the need to remove the steering control tie rod lever during service, which is otherwise required when using conventional tools — a meaningful time saving on each event.
