The SIP STARTMASTER DSC250B (SKU 03585) is a powerful wheel-mounted digital starter charger designed for charging and boosting a variety of lead acid and Lithium-Ion battery types. Operating from a 230v 50Hz supply, it supports both 12v and 24v battery systems and is built for battery charging and boost-start applications in automotive, agricultural and engineering workshop environments, including charging commercial vehicle batteries up to 350Ah capacity.
At the heart of the STARTMASTER DSC250B is an intelligent microprocessor delivering a 10-step automatic charging cycle that diagnoses battery condition and voltage before beginning a charge. Battery auto-detect recognises 12v or 24v type automatically, while low 1v detection improves the chances of recovering deeply discharged batteries. The alternator test mode indicates alternator working condition prior to charging or boosting, and one-person operation enables a single user to perform engine boost-starts. An LED display screen and intuitive soft-touch control panel allow straightforward selection of charge and boost settings, and the unit is supplied with two 2-metre leads and clip clamps.
The DSC250B supports all 12v/24v lead acid chemistries — including WET, MF, EFB, GEL, AGM and CA types — as well as 12v 4-cell LiFePO4 Lithium-Ion batteries. Charging current ranges from 5A to 15A continuously, with a boost charging current of 25A (5-minute maximum). For jump-start applications, the unit delivers a maximum start current of 280A on a fully discharged battery or 200A on a medium-charged battery, drawing 6kW/26A at the plug for up to 5 seconds. A 32A plug (not supplied) is recommended for jump-start use.
Built-in safety features include an anti-spark system to prevent sparks when connecting clip clamps to battery terminals, reverse polarity and overcharge protection, and an overheat alarm that halts operation and automatically restarts once the unit has cooled. The IP20 protection rating and operating temperature range of 0°C to 20°C define the intended working environment. Wheel-mounted with a pull handle, the STARTMASTER DSC250B offers outstanding mobility around the workshop.
