The SIP 01976 is a 5-tonne electric horizontal log splitter designed for home use and landscaping applications, delivering continuous hydraulic force to split dried softwoods and hardwoods safely and efficiently. Powered by a 2.2kW (3hp) motor on a standard 230v (13A) supply, it is well suited to a wide variety of environments without the need for specialist electrical installation.
At the heart of the machine is a hydraulic piston ram rated to 5 tonnes of continuous splitting force, operating at 20.6MPa hydraulic pressure with a 3.5-litre HV22 hydraulic oil reservoir. The cutting wedge automatically returns to the starting position after each split, allowing the operator to comfortably position each successive log. A robust safety cage encloses the entire system and the machine also incorporates an integrated ram lock and a built-in NVR (no-volt release) switch for added operational safety.
The splitter handles logs from 50mm to 250mm in diameter and up to 520mm in length. Large integrated wheels and a carry handle ensure easy mobility across uneven terrain, making it straightforward to move between splitting locations. Noise output is rated at 89.9dB(A) under full load and 78.8dB(A) at no-load.
The SIP 5 TON Log Splitter Stand (01972), sold separately, raises the unit to a comfortable working height when a bench is not available.
