A. The SIP 05813 is suitable for fume extraction from all common arc welding processes — MIG, TIG, ARC/MMA, and plasma cutting. The capture rate depends on correct positioning of the extraction arm or nozzle close to the source.

Q 2. Where should I position the extraction inlet?

A. Position the extraction inlet 150–300mm from the arc, upwind of the fume plume. The fume plume rises from the arc — the extractor inlet should be positioned to intercept it before it reaches the welder's breathing zone. Repositioning as you move around the job is important.

Q 3. What filtration does the SIP 05813 provide?

A. Check the product specification for filter classification. Multi-stage extractors typically use a pre-filter for coarse particles, a main filter for fine welding fume, and in some models a carbon filter for gaseous by-products.
