The material is 600-denier polyester over a polyurethane backing: waterproof and oil and mud resistant, keeping spills, oil, general wear and staining off the seats underneath. Staining is worth naming separately on a grey cover — it is what shows first, and it is the reason some operators prefer grey: the cover tells you when it needs attention rather than hiding it.

Each cover carries an extra side panel to pull it in tight against the seat, and coverage is 360-degree, wrapping the seat rather than draping across it. Overlocked seams hold the panel edges through repeated entry and exit.

Fitting uses elasticated edges, which pull the covers in under the seat pans so they cannot ride up, and needs no tools at any point.
