Product Number: SSE3
Where a strut end simply needs to hinge on a pin, an eye fitting is the most direct connection. The Metrol SSE3 is a 316 stainless steel eye end fitting with an M6 thread, a 22mm body and a 8.5mm eye hole. Threaded onto the rod, its eye accepts a pin at the mounting so the strut can swing as the panel is raised and lowered. Its M6 thread suits a gas strut with a 6 & 8mm rod, and the eye pins to pin-stud brackets such as SSBRK-8-90, BRK-4B, BRK-7B. It measures 15mm across the eye boss, on a 9mm shoulder, with a 4.8mm section. It is one of a family of end fittings that connect a strut to its mounting — a ball joint to swivel freely, an eye to hinge on a pin, a clevis to pin in line, or a rose eye to take up misalignment. Sized for a 6 & 8mm rod, the fitting is matched by thread to the strut and by size to the fixing. It is found on access panels, inspection hatches, equipment covers, storage-box lids and similar panels. Within the M6 eye range, its nearest sizes are SSE2 and SSE4, differing by body length; a steel version is available as E3. In 316 stainless steel it withstands corrosion outdoors and in marine settings.
