The knurled grip and hinged joint head design are retained, and the extending handle section — manufactured from carbon steel, hardened, tempered and chrome plated — locks securely in any position between 400 mm and 600 mm. A spring-loaded ball bearing ensures reliable socket retention throughout use. The repair kit is manufactured and tested generally in accordance with DIN 3122 and ISO 3315 specifications, reflecting the same standard applied to the parent tool. Contents comprise one repair kit for the 56774 handle, supplied in a polythene bag.
