The blade features a hardened M3 steel cutting edge that is welded to a tough alloy steel body. This bi-metal construction combines the wear resistance of high-speed steel with the toughness of the alloy body specifically reducing the risk of shattering during use. Maximum cutting depth is 35mm (1-3/8""). Four side slots are incorporated into the body to assist removal of the slug after cutting keeping the work area clear and the blade free. A female threaded spindle provides secure fixing to a 9.5mm arbor allowing straightforward attachment to most standard power drills. When cutting metal use of a lubricant is advisable to prolong service life; Draper Metal Cutting Lubricant 400ml (Stock No. 76109) is recommended for this purpose.
