Draper's 9413 cloth sanding belts address each of these requirements through a combination of carefully chosen materials and construction methods. The abrasive surface is formed from aluminium oxide grain applied via electrostatic sand planting and an open coat configuration. This approach promotes effective chip removal and heat dissipation during extended sanding runs, reducing the risk of surface damage caused by heat build-up. The aluminium oxide is resin bonded to the backing, providing efficient resistance and long-lasting performance across repeated use. Stability across the work surface is maintained by a special butt joint construction that minimises the effect of vibration, helping to avoid the ridging and chatter marks that poorly joined belts can leave behind. The backing itself is a strong X-weight polycotton cloth, a specification that balances flexibility and durability while enhancing loading intensity and enabling use across different pressure applications. Each belt measures 150 x 1220mm and is suited to sanding and finishing wood, metal, aluminium alloy, painted surfaces, plastic, and fillers. The belts are compatible with all 150 x 1220mm belt sanders, including Draper Stock No. 98423. Supplied as a pack of two 180 grit belts.
