Achieving a fine, consistent finish on wood, metal and coated surfaces requires abrasives that stay sharp and resist loading. These 150mm gold sanding discs from Draper are constructed from aluminium oxide with a calcium stearate treatment, resin bonded to deliver self-sharpening action and anti-clogging performance throughout the working life of the disc. The heavy-duty D-Weight backing paper provides the rigidity and durability needed to withstand demanding sanding tasks, while the hook and loop backing ensures secure adhesion to the sanding pad and allows fast disc changes without tools or adhesive. Each disc is pre-punched with 15 holes of 8mm diameter, aligned to improve dust extraction during use and help maintain a cleaner work surface. At 400 grit, these discs are suited to fine sanding and finishing work across a broad range of materials including wood, ferrous alloys and other metals, painted surfaces, varnish, plastic and fillers. The discs are compatible with all 150mm random orbit sanders fitted with a hook and loop backing pad, including Draper Stock Nos. 58097 and 89522. Supplied in a pack of ten.

A. The discs are constructed from aluminium oxide with a calcium stearate treatment that is resin bonded to the abrasive layer. This combination provides self-sharpening action and anti-clogging performance during use.
A. Hook and loop is a fastening system — one surface carries small hooks and the other carries a looped textile — that locks the disc securely to the sanding pad when pressed together. It allows the disc to be removed and replaced quickly without tools or adhesives. These Draper sanding discs are designed with a hook and loop backing to facilitate fast disc changes on compatible sanders.
