A diesel injector seizes into its bore over time, and pulling one is not a matter of leverage. The puller has to grip the injector body itself and draw it out square, because anything applied off centre wedges it harder rather than freeing it. That is also why an injector job is quoted differently from most engine work.
Pullers are listed by injector system rather than by vehicle alone, since the body shape is what has to be gripped. Sets here cover Citroen, Peugeot and Fiat 2.0 and 2.2HDi 16v, Bosch and Delphi systems, and Mercedes CDi. Injector pullers are also rated for the force they apply rather than being general purpose extraction tools.
Once the injector is out, the bore has to be cleaned before anything goes back. Carbon builds round the seat and a new injector fitted onto that will not seal. A 38 piece decarbonising brush set clears the bore, and seat cutters restore the sealing face where brushing is not enough. A lifter and slide hammer set covers injectors that will not move under a steady pull at all.
Flow testing tells you whether an injector is worth refitting rather than replacing, and a leak-off test shows which one is failing. Seal removal tools at 6.7 to 8.7mm take the old washer out without damaging the seat.
