Maintaining or replacing a motorcycle drive chain requires precision tools capable of handling the full range of chain sizes in service — from narrow cam chains to heavy-duty final drive chains. The Draper Expert 31318 Motorcycle Chain Splitter and Riveter Kit is designed for splitting chains from No.25 cam chains through to No.520 motorcycle final drive chains, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of chain maintenance tasks on motorcycles and small-engine equipment. The kit functions through a main press body accepting interchangeable press pins, press plates, and press anvils, allowing the user to drive out and re-press chain rivets with controlled force. Three press pins are included — 2.2mm, 2.9mm, and 3.8mm — to suit different chain pitches and pin diameters. Upper and lower guides are provided for use with the 2.2mm press pin, and a rivet tip spreader enables the cold-staking of replacement rivets. Please note: to successfully press the rivet from heavy-duty 520 final drive chains, the rivet head must be ground off prior to pressing. The complete kit comprises a main press body, clamp and pressure screw handle, sliding T-bar, two press plates, two press anvils, three press pins (2.2mm, 2.9mm, 3.8mm), a rivet tip spreader, upper and lower guides for the 2.2mm press pin, and a spring for the press pins. All components are display packed in a blow-mould storage case for organised storage and transport.
