The bevelled edges are a key functional feature, enabling greater pressure to be applied during the burnishing stage. This is what allows the plasterer to achieve the characteristic natural, marble-like finish associated with quality venetian plaster work. The blade shape and edge profile work together to give the applicator precise control over pressure and angle throughout the finishing process.
