Threading black gas or galvanised iron pipes demands clean, accurate results in confined spaces. The Draper 22496 Metric Ratchet Pipe Threading Kit addresses this with a compact ratchet head specifically suited for working close to walls and other obstructions, making it practical in the restricted environments common to plumbing and gas installation work. The kit comprises four die heads, a two-piece tubular steel handle and the compact ratchet head. The cast iron die heads are fitted with alloy steel dies and feature four chasers per head to produce clean, accurate threads. Four waste holes in each head ensure quick dispersion of swarf, keeping the work area clear during threading operations. The metric set covers die head sizes of 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm. An imperial set is also available, offering 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 1-1/4" BSP die heads for those working to BSP specifications. The complete kit is packed in a blow-mould carrying case with a display sleeve for organised storage and transport.
