Product Number: 79200
Creating clean, accurate internal threads in metalwork requires reliable cutting tools made to consistent standards. The Draper 79200 Metric Hand Tap Set provides a comprehensive selection of second taper taps manufactured from special high carbon steel, ensuring the material has sufficient hardness and resilience for thread cutting across a range of common metric sizes. Each tap features accurately cut threads which is essential for producing precise well-formed internal threads that accept bolts and fasteners cleanly without binding or cross-threading. As second taper taps they are suited to the intermediate stage of the tapping sequence following a first taper tap where a starter pass is required and delivering a more fully formed thread profile in the workpiece. The set contains ten taps covering nine metric thread specifications: M3 x 0.5 M4 x 0.7 M5 x 0.8 M6 x 1.0 M7 x 1.0 M8 x 1.25 M9 x 1.25 M10 x 1.5 M11 x 1.5 and M12 x 1.75. This range addresses the thread sizes most commonly encountered in general engineering vehicle maintenance and workshop fabrication. The set is display packed making storage and tap identification straightforward in a working workshop environment. The Draper 79200 is a practical choice for workshops garages and engineering benches requiring a ready-to-use metric tapping selection.
