Workshop technicians often need to reach fasteners set at awkward angles or in confined spaces where a straight drive extension simply cannot deliver adequate torque. The Draper Expert Universal Joint for 1/4" square drive addresses this requirement directly, allowing the head to swing through 90 degrees in both directions so that sockets can be presented to fasteners at a wide range of approach angles without removing the drive from the ratchet. Constructed from chrome vanadium steel that has been hardened, tempered, chrome plated and polished, the joint delivers the rigidity and corrosion resistance expected of professional workshop tooling. The polished finish resists the grime and moisture typical of workshop environments and simplifies cleaning after use. A spring-loaded ball bearing retains the mounted socket securely throughout the drive stroke, reducing the risk of the socket pulling free in recessed or overhead positions. This retention mechanism is particularly valuable when working in areas where a dropped socket is difficult to retrieve. Manufactured and tested generally in accordance with DIN 3122 and ISO 3315 specifications, the joint meets recognised international standards for square-drive accessories. Supplied as a single unit compatible with any 1/4" square drive ratchet, extension bar, or T-bar in the Draper Expert range.
