Digging for extended periods places significant strain on the back, particularly for taller users who must stoop over standard-length tools. The Draper 88794 Extra Long Carbon Steel Garden Spade addresses this directly with an overall length of 1050mm, designed to be especially useful for people 6ft tall and over. The increased length allows a straighter back when digging, reducing physical strain and providing greater leverage with each stroke. The spade head is constructed from carbon steel that has been fully hardened and tempered then finished with an epoxy coating for long-term durability. The shaft is steel cored and wrapped in a plastic coating combining structural rigidity with a comfortable grip surface. The handle is formed as a plastic 'Y-dee' design a traditional configuration that gives secure two-handed control during demanding digging tasks. The spade is supplied individually and is suited to professional groundskeepers landscapers and serious garden users who require a robust ergonomically considered tool for regular use.
Epoxy coated carbon steel, fully hardened and tempered with plastic coated steel cored shaft and plastic "Y-dee" handle. The overall length of 1050mm is especially useful for people 6ft tall and over, allowing a straighter back when digging, giving less strain and more leverage.
