The Sykes Pickavant 03220000 Piston Ring Compressor is purpose-built for these demanding applications, offering the large capacity and long reach required to seat rings correctly and safely.
The compressor operates via a spring-assisted ratchet-type lock mechanism, allowing controlled, incremental tightening of the band around the piston assembly. A square drive key is included, enabling the operator to apply precise torque to the ratchet without improvised tooling. This ratchet action provides positive locking at each stage of compression, reducing the risk of the band releasing prematurely during installation.
The tool accommodates a bore capacity of 90 mm to 175 mm and features a double-depth band of 165 mm, providing the extended contact area necessary when working with the longer piston assemblies found in commercial and agricultural engines. Overall product dimensions are 280 mm x 180 mm x 110 mm and the unit weighs 0.8 kg.
