The Draper 35880 Petrol Compression Tester is compatible with direct and indirect petrol engines using 14mm and 18mm spark plug threads, making it suitable for a wide range of common vehicle applications. At the heart of the kit is a 63mm diameter dual reading pressure gauge calibrated from 0–300psi and 0–20bar. The gauge is fitted with a heavy duty rubber protector to withstand workshop conditions. A spring-loaded pressure relief valve allows pressure to be safely released after each test, while an integrated Schrader one-way valve system retains pressure in the gauge so the reading can be observed without assistance. The kit includes a 280mm flexible hose for reach into awkward engine bays and an adaptor to suit the specified thread sizes. All components are supplied in a plastic storage case to keep the set organised and protected between uses. This 12-piece set provides the adaptor range and accessories needed to perform systematic compression tests across a petrol engine's cylinders, giving mechanics and enthusiastic owners a clear picture of engine health.
