Deeply recessed spark plugs are a common obstacle when carrying out compression testing on modern petrol engines, preventing standard compression tester hoses from seating correctly in the cylinder head. The Draper 94269 adaptor kit solves this problem by extending the reach of compatible petrol compression testers, allowing a secure, threaded connection even where the spark plug recess is too deep for conventional access. The kit comprises two adaptors to cover a wide range of engine thread configurations. The long-reach adaptor measures 200mm in length and accepts external thread sizes of 14x1.25mm and 18x1.50mm, with an internal thread size of 14x1.25mm. The shorter extension adaptor measures 65mm in length and accepts external thread sizes of 10x1.00mm and 12x1.25mm, also with an internal thread size of 14x1.25mm. Together, these two pieces address the varied spark plug thread specifications found across a broad range of vehicles.This adaptor set is suitable for use with petrol compression testers and is designed for engines where spark plugs are deeply recessed inside the cylinder head.
