Inspecting hard-to-reach areas inside engines, pipework, cavities, and mechanical assemblies without dismantling them saves significant time and labour in any workshop. The Sealey VS8231 Video Borescope features a 5.5mm camera on a 900mm probe with an IP67-rated waterproof pod, making it suitable for use in wet or contaminated environments. The pistol-grip body houses an 85mm colour TFT screen with 320 x 240 pixel resolution, giving a clear live view of inspection areas. Video recording and still image capture are both supported, with footage and images stored on the included 4GB micro SD card capacity for up to 4.5 hours of video or 10,000 still images. Files can be transferred to a PC via the supplied USB cable, and live video can be output via the AV connection using the supplied AV cable. Additional features include digital zoom, mirror flip and rotate controls, and adjustable light control. The kit includes a 45° mirror and magnetic pick-up accessory. Power comes from a 3.7V lithium-ion rechargeable battery providing up to 4 hours of continuous use. Optional additional probes are also available.
