Replacing or disconnecting a vehicle battery risks erasing critical stored data from the ECU, including settings for ICE systems, digital clocks, and trip computers. The Draper 22231 EOBD Memory Saver addresses this directly by maintaining power to the vehicle's on-board systems via the 16-pin OBD port during battery removal, protecting ECU memory without the need for specialist workshop equipment. The unit connects through a 16-pin plug and incorporates reverse polarity protection, reducing the risk of damage caused by incorrect connection. Power is supplied from a slave battery via the included cable, which features crocodile clips for straightforward attachment. An in-line fuse provides an additional layer of circuit protection during use. The Draper 22231 is supplied with approximately 2.7 metres of cable, providing sufficient reach to position a slave battery conveniently alongside the vehicle. Each pack contains one EOBD Memory Saver unit, ready for immediate use.
