Workshop sanding tasks that demand both flat-surface and edge finishing capability call for a machine that can handle both functions without compromise. The Draper 98420 is a compact belt and disc sander built around a cast iron base and powered by a 370W induction motor, delivering a belt speed of 7.35 m/s and a no-load disc speed of 2,980 rpm. The 100 x 914 mm sanding belt can be positioned horizontally or vertically to suit the workpiece, and a fast-tracking knob allows precise front-wheel adjustment for accurate belt alignment. A quick-release belt tensioning lever enables fast, straightforward belt changes without the need for additional tools. The 150 mm diameter sanding disc is served by a diecast aluminium worktable measuring 230 x 160 mm, complete with an adjustable mitre gauge. The worktable pivots from 0 to 45 degrees, allowing accurate angle sanding across a range of applications. The belt tilts from 0 to 90 degrees. A built-in dust extraction port helps maintain a clean and safe working environment, while a no-volt release magnetic switch provides an important safety measure against unintended restart following a power interruption. The machine is designed and manufactured for sanding wood and similar materials and must not be used to abrade or grind metal. Weighing 16.5 kg and measuring 483 x 356 x 292 mm, the unit is supplied complete with a sanding belt and disc.
