Product Number: 17649N
The WAI 17649N is a brand-new 12V 2.8kW starter motor. It is built to the Lucas M50 and M127 DD design, replacing original-equipment numbers across Lucas, Bosch, Delco Remy, Perkins, Valeo, and Iskra / Letrika fitments. With 128 cross-references on record — including Lucas 26294, 26294A and 26294A/B, Bosch Exchange 0986018150 and 0986018151, Delco Remy DRS3289, Perkins 2873B071, and Valeo 458383 — it covers a broad spread of agricultural, plant, and industrial applications where the original Lucas M50 or M127 DD unit would have been fitted.
Constructed as a direct-drive (DD) unit, the 17649N spins clockwise and engages via a 10-tooth pinion, matching the geometry of the original Lucas assemblies it replaces. At 2.8kW it delivers the cranking output demanded by the diesel engines most commonly found across its application range, from Massey Ferguson tractors and JCB plant equipment to Ingersoll Rand compressors and Perkins-engined machinery.
Fitment spans 73 confirmed applications across 11 makes, including Massey Ferguson (30 applications), J.C. Bamford (17), Ingersoll Rand (6), Marshall Tractors (5), Agco Allis (4), Agco White (4), Allis Chalmers, Case, Davy Compressors, Fiat-Allis, and Perkins. Sample models include the Agco Allis 8745, 8765, 8775 and 8785, and the Agco White 6410, 6510, 6710 and 6810.
