The WAI 18992N is a brand-new 12V 2.5kW starter motor. It is built to Denso OSGR specification, replacing original-equipment numbers including Denso 228000-7500, Delco Remy DRS0335, and Caterpillar 0R9702. It is designed for Caterpillar agricultural and industrial machines across 21 recorded applications, covering models such as the 216, 226, 232, 236, 242, 246, 252 and 906 (1998–2004).
The OSGR (Off-Set Gear Reduction) design delivers efficient cranking power from a compact unit, with clockwise rotation and a 10-tooth pinion to match the original ring gear engagement. Supplied brand new, it avoids the performance uncertainties that can accompany remanufactured units.
As a direct OE-equivalent replacement, the WAI 18992N meets the electrical and mechanical requirements of the original Denso fitment. The 2.5kW output provides sufficient reserve power for the compression demands of the diesel engines found in this Caterpillar range.
