The material is 600-denier polyester over a polyurethane backing: waterproof and oil and mud resistant, keeping mud, grime, spills and water off the driver's seat in a van worked in all weather and climbed into in wet gear. Overlocked seams hold the panel edges together along the outer bolster, which is where a driver's seat wears first — not through sitting, but through the twist of getting in and out several times an hour.

The cover is compatible with seat-mounted side airbags, so it can be fitted to seats carrying that system. Seat adjusters remain accessible once the cover is on, so the seat can still be set to whoever is driving.
