A cover cut for the KAB Seating SCIOX super high seat, used in excavators, telehandlers and plant machinery where the operator sits high and the seat carries a tall backrest.
The material is 600-denier polyester over a polyurethane backing: waterproof, oil and mud resistant, and breathable rather than sealed, which matters on a seat occupied through a full shift in a glazed cab that warms up. It keeps mud, grime, dust, water and general wear and tear off the seat underneath.
Overlocked seams hold the panel edges together under the twisting a plant seat takes as an operator climbs in and out — which on an excavator happens far more often than on a road vehicle, and is where a seat cover is actually tested.
