A. The MAP sensor measures the air pressure in the inlet manifold and transmits this signal to the engine control unit. The ECU uses this data to calculate the correct fuel injection quantity and ignition timing. A failed or degraded MAP sensor can cause poor fuel economy, rough idling, loss of power, or stored fault codes. Replacing it with a correctly specified unit such as MAP-004 restores accurate engine management operation.
