The MAP-009 is a manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor designed as a direct replacement for a broad range of Ford petrol engines spanning 1977 to 1999. Covering 38 applications across the Ford range, the MAP-009 is built to restore accurate intake manifold pressure measurement and support correct fuel and ignition management on the vehicles it fits.
As a MAP sensor, the MAP-009 monitors manifold vacuum and delivers the pressure signal that the engine control unit requires to calculate correct fuel delivery and ignition timing. Replacing a failed or degraded sensor with a properly specified unit helps restore stable idle, responsive throttle behaviour, and efficient combustion on the fitted vehicle.
