Removing or refitting a gearbox demands precise load control at height — an awkward task where an unreliable jack presents a genuine safety risk. The Draper Expert 19788 hydraulic vertical transmission jack addresses this directly with a telescopic twin-stage ram, lifting from a minimum height of 940mm to a maximum stage-one height of 1,430mm and a maximum stage-two height of 1,940mm, with a rated capacity of 1,000kg. The lowering control system (LCS) allows the operator to lower the load precisely into position with controlled, predictable movement, while the safety overload valve provides added user protection. Hands-free operation is achieved via the twin-position Quick Lift foot pedal, leaving both hands free to guide the component. Chain straps and adjustable supporting struts are attached for added support and increased stability respectively. The fully adjustable saddle accepts a wide variety of gearboxes and components, and the saddle's forward, backward and side-to-side tilt features assist the operator in aligning the load accurately. A 740 x 640mm base provides a stable footprint, and 75mm-diameter nylon castors deliver quieter, smoother movement without damaging workshop floors. The side-mounted handle further aids positioning and manoeuvrability across the workshop. Manufactured to EN1494 specification. The unit weighs 67kg and is supplied with chain straps of 1,495mm length.
