Working on hybrid and electric vehicle high-voltage systems or any live electrical environment demands tools that combine precise torque application with full electrical insulation. A standard torque wrench offers no protection against electric shock, creating serious risk in these applications. The Sealey STW806 is a fully insulated 1/4"Sq drive torque wrench from the Sealey Premier hand tool range, built to BS EN IEC 60900:2018 and rated for live working at up to 1500V DC and 1000V AC. The 60-tooth ratchet head is manufactured from Chrome Vanadium steel, and the body combines impact resistant polycarbonate tubing with injection moulded nylon thermoplastic for total insulation. Torque range runs from 2 to 12Nm (1.48-8.85 lb.ft) with micrometer-type adjustment and a scale graduated in both Nm and lb.ft. Accuracy is ±1% at 21°C, calibration is in accordance with BS EN ISO 6789:2017, and a test and calibration certificate is included. The wrench torques in both directions, has an overall length of 285mm, and is cold and heat resistant across a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. Supplied with a lifetime guarantee.
