The 12-point profile engages hex fasteners at twice the number of contact points compared with a six-point design, providing a secure drive and helping to reduce the risk of rounding on worn or corroded fasteners. A knurled ring around the socket body provides additional grip when manoeuvring the socket by hand, making it easier to locate and seat the socket in confined spaces. This socket is designed for use with a 1/2-inch square drive and is manufactured and tested generally in accordance with DIN 3124 and ISO 2725-1 specifications, affirming its suitability for professional applications.
