Constructed from chrome vanadium steel that has been hardened and tempered the socket is built to withstand the stresses of demanding workshop use. The micro satin finish provides a degree of corrosion protection helping to maintain the tool's condition in humid or exposed environments. The six-point contact geometry distributes torque evenly across the fastener flats reducing the risk of rounding off fastener heads during tightening or removal. A knurled ring is incorporated around the body of the socket providing additional grip when positioning or removing the socket by hand — a practical feature when working in tight spaces or with oily hands. The 1/4"" square drive is compatible with standard 1/4"" ratchets extensions and accessories. This socket is manufactured and tested generally in accordance with DIN 3124 and ISO 2725-1 specifications reflecting a commitment to consistent dimensional accuracy and performance standards within the Draper Expert range.
