Working on live electrical circuits demands insulated tooling that meets rigorous safety standards. This Draper Expert XP1000® VDE Metric Socket Set is engineered for hybrid and electric vehicle servicing and maintenance, and is equally suited to electricians and other trades operating on live circuits. Every component in the set is individually insulated and tested to 10,000V, confirming safe working on live circuits of up to 1,000V AC and 1,500V DC, and the entire set is manufactured to EN 60900 specifications. The set contains thirteen 6-point sockets covering sizes 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14mm, driven by a 1/4" square drive reversible ratchet with a quick-release mechanism and a 45-tooth mechanism that allows 8° of movement per swing. Three extension bars — 50mm, 100mm and 150mm — extend reach into confined areas. The sockets and extension bars are forged from chrome vanadium steel, while the ratchet is manufactured from high-quality carbon steel. All 17 pieces are housed in a sturdy plastic storage case with an integrated handle for organised transport and storage on site or in the workshop.
