Broken and seized studs are a persistent challenge in workshop and automotive maintenance, and the Draper 58708 stud extractor set is designed to address exactly this problem. The roller-type mechanism grips the stud as torque is applied, allowing removal of both left and right hand threads without the need to identify thread direction in advance — a practical advantage when working on unfamiliar assemblies. The set is driven via a 1/2" square drive or a 21mm hexagon on the end of the socket, giving compatibility with standard ratchet handles and torque wrenches. The four sockets cover stud sizes of 6, 8, 10, and 12mm, making the set suitable for a wide range of fastener diameters commonly encountered in automotive and general workshop applications. All components are manufactured from chrome vanadium steel, hardened and tempered for strength, with a chrome plating finish that provides corrosion protection during storage and use. Spare extractors are available separately, extending the working life of the set.
