Electrical work on live circuits demands tools that eliminate the risk of accidental shock. The Draper Expert XP1000® VDE Metric Socket Set (19 Piece, 1/2" Sq. Dr.) addresses this directly: every component is individually insulated and tested to 10,000V, permitting safe working on live circuits rated up to 1,000V AC and 1,500V DC. Manufactured to EN 60900 specifications, the set is equally suited to hybrid and electric vehicle servicing and maintenance, and to electricians and other trades operating on live installations. The set contains sixteen 6-point sockets spanning ten through to thirty-two millimetres — 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 24, 27, 30 and 32mm — covering the metric fastener range encountered across most automotive and industrial applications. The sockets and two extension bars (130mm and 255mm) are forged from chrome vanadium steel for strength and durability. The 1/2" square drive reversible ratchet is constructed from high-quality carbon steel and features a quick-release mechanism alongside a 45-tooth mechanism that delivers 8° of arc swing per ratchet stroke, allowing use in confined spaces. All nineteen components are supplied in a sturdy plastic storage case with an integrated handle, keeping each piece organised, protected, and ready for transport between jobs.
