The Draper 83793 Coarse Hand Taps set provides a taper tap and a plug (bottoming) tap manufactured from high carbon steel with accurately cut threads, giving the cutting edges the hardness and precision needed for reliable thread formation in metal workpieces. The taper tap is used to start the thread cleanly progressively engaging the material to reduce the force required at entry. The plug tap follows to carry the thread further towards the base of a blind hole making this two-tap combination practical for the majority of through and semi-blind threading applications encountered in workshop and repair environments. The thread pitch for this 2 mm tap set is 1.25 mm a standard coarse metric pitch. Both taps are supplied together on a display card one of each type ready for immediate use. This set is suited to engineers maintenance technicians and workshop professionals who require dependable hand tapping tooling for metric coarse threading tasks.
