The SIP 01744 1L Water Soluble Cutting & Drilling Fluid is a general purpose metalworking fluid with a high oil content and low odour, designed for applications including cutting, drilling, turning, milling, sawing and surface grinding in metalwork and fabrication.
Formulated using highly refined paraffinic mineral oils and additives, this fluid delivers improved corrosion protection and bacterial resistance during demanding machining operations. When diluted with water, it forms a stable milky white emulsion suitable for use across a wide range of metalworking tasks. For added safety and reduced environmental impact, the fluid is nitrite, phenol and chlorine-free.
The fluid supports a dilution range of 3% to 10% and is compatible with water hardness levels between 50 and 300 ppm CaCO3, making it suitable for use in most workshop water supplies. The concentrate presents as dark brown in its undiluted state, with a specific gravity of 0.9 at 15°C and a pH of 9.2 at 5% dilution. The refractometer conversion factor is 1.0, enabling straightforward concentration monitoring. IP 287 Breakpoint Corrosion is rated at 3% and the IP 125 Herbert Corrosion Test at 2.5%, confirming reliable corrosion inhibition at working concentrations. It is well suited to bandsaws, circular saws, grinders and linishers.
